Update to 0.8 not working for me
Yeah, don't use the installer from Github... I'll have a look at updating it to install 0.8

Boot straight to MAME?
Suggestion: You might prefer to use advmenu for this. It was included in PiMAME before 0.8 when it became PiPLAY. Advmenu is a pretty decent frontend, and might be better for what you need. Its designed for advmame but works with any emulator. It w…

Controlling Power
You could try that Belkin one. If you wanted to, you could crack it open and rewire the switch to a more accessible location. I would probably use an Arduino for something like this (see http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=10624.0)

Pimame not loading menu after boot.
It appears the error is in menuitem.py which handles the config.yaml It coukd just be a typo or indentation error or something in the config file. Try replacing it and see what happens

Just cant figure it out
Hmm... Thats a fairly old version, I suggest updating to the newest version. A lot of things like the uploaded and directory structure have changed. If you want to stay with 0.7.10 then try uploading via FTP (Tutorial on Piplay.org) Good luck!

PiPlay isn't just mame, its gngeo, psx, gba, c64 and much more. Its not an emulator, rather a collection of emulators. PiPlay, in fact includes the emulator you mentioned above, mame4all-pi Not only that but ot includes advmame too. PiPlay is…

Unfortunately, for legal reasons we can't tell you were to get roms :( The first few sites are usually safe, but I don't think I can say more than that... You can get a couple free roms (Legally) from http://www.mamedev.org/roms/ but there…

Type: chown /home/pi/pimame/roms pi I think that's how you change the owner to pi. (Default user)

Edit config.yaml and change 'Install Mame' to visible. Then load the menu and run the installer. Once its finished you may have to make mame4all visible again in config.yaml

How to uninstall mame4all?
there's no official way but you can. First type: rm /home/pi/pimame/emulators/mame4all-pi Then open up config.yaml and set Mame4all to not visible. Good luck

I think if you reimaged or re-run the mame4all jnstaller plus create the symbolic link, it may work. Try going into startx and deleting mame4all-pi and reinstall mame. I dont know, sorry.
