Try running: rm /home/pi/emulators/mame4all-pi/roms/mame4all And then run this again: rm -r /home/pi/pimame/roms/mame4all ln -s /home/pi/pimame/roms/mame4all /home/pi/pimame/emulators/mame4all-pi/roms

OSX isn't really BSD based anymore. It's still Unix but most of the BSD parts have over time been replaced. But yes, most of the Linux commands are available. As much as I hate Apple, OSX is still kind of awesome...
