beta 6 boot issue
  • Hi,

I've downloaded the beta 6, but my raspberry pi don't boot. I've tried with 3 types of sd card: sandisk, lexar and trascend, either 8gb.
  • I will reupload to another site.
  • are you formatting the card using SDFormatter, and then writing the image using win32diskImager?
  • No, I use a Mac. I write the image directly with "dd" command under terminal.
  • You wanted to say that you use linux :D... dd is a gnu command and not a mac command! Mac users are not used to console stuff no?
  • @ian57: it's a joke? Os X is BSD-based, and 90% of linux terminal commands are usable. I'm a linux sysadmin, but for desktop i prefer to use a mac.
  • OSX isn't really BSD based anymore. It's still Unix but most of the BSD parts have over time been replaced. But yes, most of the Linux commands are available.
As much as I hate Apple, OSX is still kind of awesome...
  • Of course it's a joke... simply want to say that OSX is a linux now....
  • Yeah, pretty much...
  • Wanted to say that a Mac is not a Mac anymore... no motorola cpu, no specific OS... It's a beautiful PC with a beautiful Linux like on it and with a beautiful price too :D
  • update: I've tried with another sdcard reader, in windows xp, and I've downloaded again the img.
Result: nothing, the pi don't boot. Boh!
