newly installed piplay... permissions wrong on roms folder
  • I just installed piplay v0.7.10 (stable?).
After trying unsuccessfully to upload some ROMs... I took at a look at the permissions of the roms folder.
It looks like, for some reason, that the permissions for read, write, execute are set to "root root" instead of "pi pi".
I attempted to log in via ftp using root root... but that's not the root password apparently.
How do I change the permissions? or what's the root password?
  • ok... set root by using:
    "sudo passwd root"
but, that doesn't let me log in via FTP... ideas?
  • Type:
    chown /home/pi/pimame/roms pi
I think that's how you change the owner to pi. (Default user)
  • huh. "'/home/pi/pimame/roms' : No such file or directory"
however, /home/pi/roms looks like it's there.
I did have to change the owner of some of the other folders as well.
    Will these changes persist?
Also, what's the startup of pimame from the command line? I can't find it right now...
  • I forgot, 0.7.x uses a different folder structure. Yes, its just /home/pi/roms

    Thanks for correcting me roo

Start pimame from the command line with 'exit'
  • Thanks.
