Running Stella on .8Beta9
What are you using as the display? This sounds like an SDL / framebuffer problem. You can also look here for some possible ideas (although those might have been pre-beta) : http://piplay.org/forum/discussion/comment/6510#Comment_6510

Ian - does that mean you're volunteering to help port what you implemented in Raspicade to the PiPlay project? I'd like to be optimistic in thinking that you're not just trolling :)

Feature Requests: What do you want to see in PiPlay?
@Rom_boss: Re Atari 2600, this might help - http://pimame.org/forum/discussion/1641/where-is-atari#Item_3 (note that this was with a stock image and not the PiPlay image so YMMV)

(Need help) My pi's I.P. adress is not working.
just to be sure, you're connecting to the ip address you get when running the following command on the pi: ifconfig eth0 (assuming you're using the ethernet port) and you're connecting from a computer on the same side of your int…

Would be nice if you can get SDL / framebuffer and the PiTFT to play nicely together (vs having to use fbcopy).

Where is Atari?
(The problem, as posted elsewhere, is that the SDL implementation got borked. An alternate solution would be to downgrade the kernel).

To get Stella running on the Pi2: 1) sudo apt-get install stella 2) wget http://malus.exotica.org.uk/~buzz/pi/sdl/sdl1/deb/rpi2/libsdl1.2debian_1.2.15-8rpi_armhf.deb 3) dpkg --install libsdl1.2debian_1.2.15-8rpi_armhf.deb HTH

Try sudo chmod 775 fceux Then try running it again Nano is a file editor. So the command above tried to edit a program file (thus te gibberish).

sudo should have done the trick. You can also "sudo su" first, which puts you in as root. Then try nano /boot/config.txt again. You can also access the boot folder from a windows machine if you mount the SD card directly.

Where did you get the file from? Do they have instructions on its use? After a quick google search, it does appear to be fceux (lower case). However, you can only install a package using apt-get if a package has been built for (and is stored in) …

Have you considered just rotating the display at the system level (in /boot/config.txt)? See http://elinux.org/RPiconfig

1) there are a number of recent threads discussing HDMI sound problems. Have you tried any of those suggestions? 2) mame4all is lighter weight and optimised for the pi and performance (vs compatibility) 3) Shea just did in 0.7 beta 1 :)

Possibly a permissions issue on the roms folder. User likely doesn't have write access. Try as root or "chmod 777" the folder (which is what is usually done by the mame4all install script).
