Need a better Front End, ideally Attract mode.
I've installed a minimal xorg server on dietpi, without desktop, compiled attract-mode and ran it successfully. Actually it is quite speedy. I think it's the desktop which slow down the GUI on the pi, not the X server. Need to put some ro…

Yes, amazing with rpi1 256Mo... You can confirm it uses X? I will give it a try with the diet-pi distro... I didn't know it before.

Problem with my joysticks
If it's a xinmo, take a look at raspicade. It supports xinmo natively. Emulators have been patched and configured for this devices.

I'm not sure that the the piplay relaease of pifba is patched for xinmo. If not, event if your start button is working, your second joystick will not work. Take my binary release of pifba and its config file for xinmo here : https://github.co…

Its a kernel bug. Piplay does not have full support of xinmo. take a look at http://piplay.org/forum/discussion/1840/another-xin-mo-question-mutliple-button-presses#Item_7 to get and install my patched kernbel from raspicade.

My distro was created for arcade integration... and the native suppport of the xinmo dual player is the main difference with the other distro.

Joystick and buttons problem
@fattyphunt : with raspicade and xin-mo I use a combo to exit emulators. I modified sources of some emulators to do that, and configure a combo in retroarch. That works well.
