Increasing game size on screen
Try this: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,144119.msg1507803.html#msg1507803 Has worked pretty well for me, but breaks scanlines. Also, williams games tend to be a little bit left shifted on an arcade monitor, so I'll have to …

Actually, yes, you can do that. Can you read a unique ID off of the barcode? Start here: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9166 Make each code a user, and limit individual user time with timekpr: https://launchpad.net/timekpr

Boot to MAME in PiPLay with Pi 2
What, specifically, did you do? Generally, you should replace the menu execute commands at the bottom with a cd over to the mame4all-pi directory, and then it's just ./mame

Messed up Mame4All Key Config
There's also a config file for each game played in a /cfg directory underneath your mame4all-pi directory, but I don't remember the specifics. I'd look there first.

advmame vs mame4all
The bottom line for mame4all is that it's a faster version of an old version of mame. The emulation generally isn't as accurate, but I think a few of the cores have been ported to assembly. Also, mame4all doesn't have as many config…

That IS awesome. Got a build log anywhere? I'd like to see what you're doing for a display. One of these days I want to try and turn an old color TV into a vector monitor.

Really small button solution
Thanks! For the screen, I'm using one of these. I got it off of ebay- It's a composite input, 12VDC input, 4.3" LCD. I've got a 5V audio amp to cram in there too along with a pair of 2" speakers. I'll put up picture…

The one I have linked above is 10-24V, so it does need an additional power supply, but THIS one is fine to run on 5V (the 5V connection pin on the GPIO header). I've used that exact model in the mini-mame driving 2" diameter speakers and …

Excellent! Can you tell me what games you see this in, and can you give me some more information about what resolutions you're running? I'll likely see the same problem.

can you get to the console? Plug the ipac in and type 'dmesg' to see that it gets recognized. Don't remember which ipac I'm using, but it shows up as an HID keyboard.

Hi Sancho- what is your hardware setup? On mine, I'm not using the cupcade display; rather I'm using the composite output, so I modified the retrogame.c (specifically in ioStandard[]) key bindings. I don't have the specifics here (a…

Cocktail games you can set to cocktail mode with the virtual DIP switches in mame4all, but I haven't seen the option to do do it with non-cocktail games.

I assume you're building some arcade-style controls, meaning full size and pretty much indestructible. The source will depend a lot on your location, but I've had some luck with the Suzo-happ ultimate pushbutton. For a good red ball joys…

That's true- the GPIOs work great- the only drawback to using them is that you need a connector to attach to the GPIO headers. I had a spare IPAC2 laying around from a few years ago, and it has labelled phoenix connectors (screw terminals) to …
