Will PiPlay be compatible with the new RPi B+ unit? I noticed on the site that i get pcbs from that the B+ unit was not compatible with the same Noobs or Raspbian distros and they recommended updating the distros. So I was curious what the situation with PiPlay would be.
It will be. There may be some hiccups, but we will make sure that we get it all working on the B+. We will probably have to put out a custom image for the B+ if it needs a different version of raspbian.
I don't think this should be a problem at all. Only hardware changes on the new model. Only problem thing that could mess up is that audio jack that is also used for the component video.
I've been using the new B+ and everything has been working fine. There are two failure errors while booting but nothing serious yet. All my roms have been working so far. I connected my arcade speakers and they worked as well.
Good news for xin-mo users, the latest rpi update use 3.12.25 kernel and the xin-mo module is natively present and fonctionnal. No more need to compile kernel/modules ;)
