For gamepad, you need to change a file (i don't remember which, if you want later i can tell you) and recompile emulator (using "make" command).

Have you solved? I have same problem. If i copy command from config.yaml and launch it into console all works. But if i use menu-gui for launching gpsp i have black screen and return ti menu-gui. Maybe is there an error inside menuitem.py?
