[SOLVED]booting pi mame
To get mine to boot i had uncommented the following in the config file: hdmi_force_hotplug=1 hdmi_group=1 maybe it willwork for you;-)

Maybe Shea or Connor (hint, hint) can give a brief tutorial on each emulator and how to configure them and map joysticks. If you could guys I would appreciate kit too ;-)

Just installed PiMame for first time 2 questions
Pressing Esc should exit you to command line, from here you go to the OS by typing: sudo startx To go back to pimame using command, just type: exit

Mine works fine without the kernel patch (never could download it successfully) I just wired the up and left axis to a different button pin on the xin mo.. Trial and error to find which pin works.

The infamous xin-mo. I can map controls in the emulator easy enough using tab. This also shows the key used but the main menu will only work using the keyboard.

Hey MRPuckmon, Mine is working normal now, I didn't uncomment the hdmi_mode=1, did you uncomment the: uncomment to force a specific HDMI mode (this will force VGA) ?

OK,so i forced the HDMI which gave power to the screen but was still blank. I uncommented the following 3 lines to get it to work: hdmi_force_hotplug=1 uncomment to force a specific HDMI mode (this will force VGA) hdmi_group=1

I am also using the Xin Mo, i have just found another blog that says that a usb controller will not work in the main menu without a driver... what a shame. Here is the link anyway: http://pimame.org/forum/discussion/781/controllers#Item_3

PiMAME 0.8 Preview Edition (only for the brave!)
Have tried to load pimame 0.8 but it gets stuck on emulators..... hiscore every time. I have tried the previous version but have the xin mo joysticks hence my eargerness to try this version. Any ideas??
