install from github?
there's an upgrade option that you can choose from the main menu of pimame. That should pull beta 3 for you.

That's a good question, I haven't used the upgrade script yet, so I'm not sure if it just overwrites everything or what. Hopefully @SSilver2k2, @zachberry, or @Conno123009 can comment on this.

for me, it's been all nes games. I first thought that maybe I didn't remember it being so cheesy, but then i played regular mario (because I knew that I would be able to tell if that one was mess up or not) and it's definitely wrong.

speaking of sound issues, has anyone else been having problems with their sound for nes games? It's a problem that I didn't have on version ,7. so I know that it's not my roms.

Atari (Stella) problem
I haven't messed with it, but is there an overscan/underscan setting (you may have to go into the actual config file to access it)?

AdvMAME games that I can't get running
it's probably not anything to do with your pi being overclocked or the heat or anything like that if you are able to get other roms to run. It's most likely those particular roms. I know that space invaders can be a particularly tricky gam…

ANNOUNCEMENT: PiMAME is now PiPLAY (why inside)
yeah, it depends on what part of the world you are accessing from as well. It takes a while for the changes to propagate through to all of the top level DNS's. But it seems like it forwards nicely now.

Feature Requests: What do you want to see in PiPlay?
I was thinking of building a script that would run through all of the emulator button configs and allow you to assign each button accordingly, but I'm not sure that I am going to have much time in the near future.

pIMAME with adafruit controls buttons, joystick?
I would double check your retrogame config versus your gpio pins and make sure that you have the correct pins mapped. If you are getting feedback from your joystick, then a bad configuration is most likely your culprit.

In piplay version .8.3 you can just press escape and you will go to the command line. from there, if you type 'exit' it will take you back to the piplay menu. In the upper right hand corner of the piplay menu, you should see your ip addres…

nice! If I'm going to be out of town, I like to forward a port on my router to the ftp on my raspberry pi, so I still have access to it.

I can probably mod it in the pisnes source to check for xin-mo. Now that I know what works, it should be easy.

This is great! Good going @ian57! This has plagued the xin-mo users for way too long. I never had one of them, so I could never test! If you don't mind, I'm sure Shea would love to include this in the next build.

you really could use either one. I'm currently building a portable arcade with two separate joystick panels (it sounds similar to your project). I wanted two players, but not necessarily force them to sit side by side. Anyway, either of those w…

I would look into jtest, it should be able to return the button codes for your controllers and then you just input it into your config files.
