    How do I get this wifi adapter to work with .8beta9?

    I have loaded the drivers found in the file date 20150212 and edited the /etc/network/interfaces file. I still cannot get wlan0 to appear with ifconfig. How do I get this wifi adapter to work with the beta 8 9

    I did. I followed the instructions and downloaded the 8188eu_20150212 tar zip file because the version of raspbian is 755. Loaded that. Modified the interfaces file. At least it shows up when I do a lsusb now. But it does not appear in the select list inside of startx.

    I took the following steps to get my wifi working.

    If you’ve not installed Wicd-curses just type:
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install wicd-curses

    Ok, now we are ready to start, type:
    sudo wicd-curses

    You’ll get a list of the wireless network found by the Raspberry PI.
    Things are pretty strait forward from this point on, more information from on source:
