Anyone else having emulation performance issues?

Hello!

I've browsed around and found that most say PiPlay performs very well. I'm not finding that with mine sadly.

For example Sonic 2 runs between 15 and 20 FPS and looks super choppy.

Most SNES titles are about the same.

My setup:
Pi B+
1440x900 resolution
Official PiPlay image

If this is the performance one should expect I may look into porting piplay to x86 and running it on a mini pc.

Make sure that you overclock, are using a class 10 sd card, set your memory split to something like 128

I did over clock and I'm using a class 10 SD card.

The memory split is new to me, what's that?

sudo raspi-config
select 'expand filesystem' (just to kill 2 birds with 1 stone)
next select 'advanced options'
select 'memory split'
set to 128 (you can play around with this number -> anything between 64 and 256, but 128 seems to work best for me)
select 'Back'
select 'Finish'

it allocates ram between general purpose and video.
