interlock gpio buttons in piplay?

piplayers, i intend to interlock some buttons in piplay for more fun.
first, i made joypadlike thing on breadboard, but it dosen't work in piplay.
How can i set up should be able to use these buttons?

I'm not sure what you mean by interlock some buttons, but you should check out adafruits retrogame

If you have buttons connected to your gpio, you need a program to watch for button presses and turn it into keyboard commands. retrogame will do that for you and then piplay will work.

Oh i thought retrogame is an emulator like piplay.
So, i have to setup buttons in retrogame then i can play with buttons in piplay?

yes. retrogame will just run in the background of your system, you won't even know it's there.

retrogame is converting button press to keyboard key as if you had a keyboard. You press P1 button 1 it gives the CTRL Key etc... see the key table here https://github.com/ian57/Raspicade-Retrogame-2Player-BPlus. the GPIO wiring is given here https://github.com/ian57/Raspicade-Retrogame-2Player-BPlus/wiki.

The key mapping is coming from the standard Mame keymapping.
