Update to xboxdrv 0.8.5
  • I want to update xboxdrv to 0.8.5 because this version has support for the logitec f310.

    I tried this update sequence:

    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:grumbel/ppa
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install xboxdrv

But i can't add the repository. I get the message: command not found.

Hope you guys have some tips, cheers!
  • Okay I solved the command not found error, but im not able to install 0.8.5, seems to be something wrong with the repository...

Hope there is a different way to install 0.8.5
  • Thanks for your quick reply and testing!

Im just starting to learn linux and its still a bit confusing to me. Do I understand you correct that you precompiled xboxdrv 0.9.0 and that I can add it to my piplay image?

Unfortuanally i dont know how to do this...could you give some step by step guidance? That would be really helpfull....

Could you also explain how to uninstall the old xboxdrv version?

    Cheers!

  • Alright! Extracting your precompiled file worked. I succesfully updated to 0.9.0. Now to get the logitec f310 working...
  • Damm i get this error : https://github.com/Grumbel/xboxdrv/issues/20

0.8.5 should work though...Im going to try to compile it myself...
  • Hmm not able to get compiling to work...I know its a bit much to ask, but would you be able to precompile 0.8.5?
  • Sure thats no problem! I dont know why i cant compile but after typing "git clone ......" I get the error fatal destination path xboxdrv already exists and is not empty?

By the way the original xbox controller also stopped working under 0.9.0. Would be nice if the new version of piplay had 0.8.5 installed as standerd
  • Thanks for your help! Im going to try it tonight.
  • It worked! The f310 is working. Only thing is that I need to manualy type sudo mmod xpad. Adding sudo mmod xpad or --detach-kernel-driver to rc.local does not work.
  • Yes that did the trick, again thanks for the support!
