    Which version of MAME does this use? Some of my rom sets aren't working, and I'm wondering if because my ROMs are too old or too new.

    I believe it uses AdvMAME v1.2, which is based on MAME v0.106

    Yeah the roms should be for MAME v0.106. You can use clrmamepro to convert your roms to that version and a lot more roms should work for you.

    Any idea of software to convert those roms on Linux? There isn't a Windows PC in the house.

    Sorry I don't know how to do it on Linux, I had to run it on my work laptop because I run Mac at home. Wine might work or if you have a windows virtual machine for running the odd windows program.

    I don't believe there is a program for Linux to convert the roms. However you could run VirtualBox which will allow you to create a Windows virtual machine on Linux.
