The 0.8 update supports gamepads and joysticks. Just update.

Yes, I've tried version 0.8 but I do not like the menu system with emulators now. Prefer list advmame and MAME4ALL. I can move more comfortably and shows me snaps.

Well, advmenu works out of the box with my xin-mo joysticks. Sorry, I don't know what else could work.
