[Question] Update from 7.10 to 8.0

First of all, Thanks for the great system =)
Having alot of fun with it!

Ok, so i have spend alot of time setting my pimame up, now my question is, is there anyway from the console to update from 7.10 -> 0.8? without having to upload and sort my games and settings ?
if i wget the installer and bash it will everything be gone?
(iam quite new on python and linux)

So, there is no good way to upgrade since its so different, but the best way would be to copy your roms to a temporary folder, run the ./uninstall.sh script, then run the 0.8 installer. Now move the roms to the new pimame/roms/ folder.
