set audio device to line out

I would like to send the sound of the raspberry pi over audio out (headphone jack in)
I've set amixer cset numid=1 but I still dont have sound over audio out (headphone jack)
anyone know how to solve this issue? -
lol.... looking endlessly and saw I made a small mistake :P
audio over HDMI:
* sudo amixer cset numid=3 2
audio headphone jack
sudo amixer cset numid=3 1 -
What file would I add this to so as to have it run on boot? I'm having to manually type each time I play.
