I just started adding .106 MAME files to advmame. Does anyone else run into any problems with 1942? My sound is really bad. Even after I overclocked it.
1942 runs fine for me :) Sound is a bit weird but I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like that. On the other hand 1943 plays really well though, and probably my most played game.
speaking of sound issues, has anyone else been having problems with their sound for nes games? It's a problem that I didn't have on version ,7. so I know that it's not my roms.
Yes, the sound is a bit wonky for me as well. Definitely with 1942, and possibly with a few others. But it could just be that I don't remember how cheesy NES games sounded back in the 80s :)
for me, it's been all nes games. I first thought that maybe I didn't remember it being so cheesy, but then i played regular mario (because I knew that I would be able to tell if that one was mess up or not) and it's definitely wrong.
I've not had great luck with any of the few MAME roms that I've tried. I can get them to load up, but I'm wondering if I need to change configuration somewhere else. I've overclocked it to 950 so far. Any suggestions? I have .106 versions of the roms but should I try looking elsewhere to get roms?
AdvMAME is very slow performance wise. If you are going to be playing MAME, I recommend running them with MAME4All. I haven't had any problems so far, except with some games that weren't compatible back in 2000.
So I tried some .37B5 ROM's with MAME4All. I'm still getting this weird error where it makes the font extremely large and then exits to the command prompt.
What happens is, you upload your roms to the roms folder, but the emulator is actually checking in the emulator folder for the roms (after selecting a game from the menu), and so it can't find the necessary files, and then poops out back to the command prompt. By linking the two folder together, you ensure that you ROM folder is the same as the emulator's ROM folder, so it can find the games when you try to load them.
