New Jordans 2016, The classic Air Jordan 11 Low Columbia is set to make a return this year, as it's noted to be part of Jordan Brand's Spring/Summer 2017 collection. The summertime is always when the Air Jordan 11 Low thrives, and the Air Jordan 11 Low UNC will return at the perfect time, over 16 years after the patent leather gem featuring Columbia Blue debuted at retailers in 2001. A little bit has changed since =the original, as an updated blue tint can be expected to hit the icy outsole unit to match the UNC shade on the mudguard. Of course, this year's rendition comes with a slight alteration in the particular shade of blue, as the original "Columbia Blue" is now known as "University Blue". The defining light blueish tone is prominent across its patent leather component encompassing the profile, while white leather is utilized for the remainder of its upper and tongue. Finally, a matching white midsole unit and translucent outsole finishes off the clean design. Jordans 2017 reintroduced the kicks yesterday as part of their Summer '17 Collection, which also includes a new "Barons" Air Jordan 11 Low as well as a UNC inspired Air Jordan 7 and a couple of Air Jordan 13 Lows. Check out the full Jordan Brand lineup for the upcoming months right here. Originally released back in 2001, the shoe then featured a Columbia Blue shade across the patent leather construction. Now, a slightly different variation dubbed University Blue will canvas the retro which also features an icy blue outsole below. So while things have changed quite a bit in the 16 years since the shoe originally released, the sentiment fueled by Jordan's alma mater remains present. Tar Heel fans, rejoice. Jordan Brand loves paying tribute to Michael Jordan's alma mater, the University of North Carolina, with shoutouts to the school in the form of University Blue accents on a number of Jordan retros in years past. Now the Air Jordan 11 Low UNC is finally returning in retro this summer. True to the Air Jordan 11 Low silhouette fashion, you can see the vertical lines working its way on the body of the shoes. This helps add depth to the overall design while the shade of university blue gives the impression of varying texture. The blue trim is placed on top of a white midsole and finally – a translucent outsole, opting for a layering approach. The New Air Jordan Shoes is getting a little bit of an overhaul for 2017′s retro drop, swapping out the "Columbia Blue" hue of the original in favor of a "University Blue" hue while applying a corresponding blue-tinted translucent rubber to the outsole. Otherwise the kicks largely stay true to form and feature their usual leather construction, patent leather mudguard and nylon lacing system. Offering a much more upbeat colorway as part of the new Jordans, the University Blue is in the same iconic silhouette of the Bred but with a sunnier appeal. Not really surprising considering how the shoes will be available in GS sizes. Consisting mainly of white and blue shades, the outsole is the only different shade as it displays a translucent hue. Other shades of blue can be found on the middle-center of the tongue, displaying the undisputable Air Jordan name and logo. The rest of the tongue is kept pristine white, paired against equally pristine laces.
