FBA remap keys doesn't work

Hi all. I'm trying to remap buttons of my joystick for Final Burn Alpha.
I have a xbox hori joystick that works with xboxdrv.
With the utility described in fba2x.cfg I have readed the numbers of the buttons and I have changed the values in the cfg files.
So I rebooted the raspberry but when I start for example Metal Slug the keys are working like the updates of the cfg file are not seen.
This file is not seen from the emulator? I have for example recompile it?

I noticed that there is a tool called control config. I used it and now all works fine.
