Boot to Mame
  • Hey

I know this have been up before and I think I have tried all I can to get it working.
Last I did after a boot up was exit PiPlay and tried to start up mame from the shell. But no luck.

The path to mame is /home/pi/pimame/emulators/mame4all-pi/mame
and to the rom is /home/pi/pimame/roms/mame4all/xxxxx.zip

I tried with the rom named zip and with out, but still no luck. I have even tried just by going into the mame folder and type in mame to se it start. Still no luck. It says -bash: mame: command not found

What did I miss for mame to start from the prompt ?
  • What command are you using to run mame? This should work:
    cd /home/pi/pimame/emulators/mame4all/
    ./mame romname
  • Also, did you expand the filesystem before running the mame installer?
A lot of people (like myself) forget to expand it which causes the mame installer to fail without notice...
  • THANKS a lot. I did not know I need a ./ in front of mame to start it. Now it works like a charm.
  • ;) Marking as solved!
