Freezing
  • I have been getting a lot of freezing lately. Sometimes it would freeze in game, other times it will freeze while booting. I haven't done anything different to cause this, and the games used to play just fine before.
Is there a way I can clean up the system, kind of like clearing cache on an android phone
  • there isn't really much caching that goes on behind the scenes in piplay (just a list of your roms). you may want to just try re-formatting your sd card and writing a fresh image to it. But honestly, if you are having problems and haven't changed anything, it could be that either your sd-card or your power supply are going bad. Do you run your games straight from your sd-card or are they on an exteneral device (usb stick or hard drive)?
  • Ahh but I have it set up just how I like it.... damn. I would hate to re/do everything.
Hopefully I can make a backup from my SD without any problems.

I am running everything off the SD
  • yeah, you can make a backup image of your whole system and put it onto another card (as long as that card is the same size or bigger than your current card). I really recommend putting your roms on a usb thumb drive or externally powered hard drive. The constant read/write functions can wear out your sd card pretty quickly. BTW, I saw your beercade video. it's pretty dang awesome!
  • Haha thanks! I couldn't have done it without your help!
Ill get a usb for the roms and give it a try.
