Some general questions regarding 2 joysticks

Hello Pimame community!
I'm new to this and have a few questions on how to get started.
I have seen some guides how to make a raspberry pi run with Pimame and play arcade games on it.
What I wonder is if I can connect 2 USB joysticks straight to my raspberry pi and play 2 player games? I haven't found any guide on this. I don't want a arcade cabinet as the only guides I can find shows. I just want to be able to connect 2 joysticks to the pi. I connect my pi to my tv. So it would be a mini console. Any guides or tips on this? Or maybe it works to plug 2 joysticks?

yes, you can plug in 2 joysticks and play 2 player games. Right now, you will have to manually configure each of the config files. In the next update, we should have the controller config program running with 2 player setup.
