Driver for NES Controller ?

So, I'm building a raspberry pi into an old broken NES and I connected the old-skool NES Controller to the RPi's GPIO.
Can anyone advise me on what driver I need to install to get the NES Controller to work with the RPi?

What you need is RetroGame
You can find it here:
https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit-Retrogame
There are instructions in the readme.

If you are just using a straight unmodified nes controller to gpio, you may also need to download an i2c package along with retrogame. Check out retrogame and i2c on adafruit.
