@mholgatem That's a damn good idea! I have heaps of ROMs too so it really takes almost 2 minutes. Thanks

how to use usb in menu pad pimame
Well, advmenu works out of the box with my xin-mo joysticks. Sorry, I don't know what else could work.

The 0.8 update supports gamepads and joysticks. Just update.

see the front end emulators instead of the list.
It is, but it will take a while to load each frontend. Edit /home/pi/pimamme/pimame-menu/config.yaml and for each option you want too use a front end set overridemenu to yes and change the command to the front end. Good luck -- Conno123009

Question: Building a cocktail cabinet with a third set of controls
Yeah sorry, no idea :( The only alternative I can think of is to pick up a old PC to replace the pi and use a different version of mame... One with three sets of control support. Sorry

Is it possible to emulate PiMAME in Virtual Box or Qemu?
Theoretically, yes. There are many guides to setting up QEMU with Raspbian. Simply subsitute Rasbian for the PiMAME image.

Xin-Mo controller... Is it good, reliable, etc. ...?
I use it, mostly good. Got 2 joysticks, 16 buttons, wires and encoder for about $80. It works as long as you have the kernel patched (in PiMAME) Not a bad solution

What joysticks are you using? The menu should work with most out of the box. -- Conno123009

@gusman I think both, I use original Xbox controller rewired to be USB, but I think 360 might work. @MRPuckmon That's easy to add, just edit the config.yaml file in ~/pimame/pimame-menu

Unzip them, that should work. With the file name use backslash (\) in front of spaces.

Xin Mo and Manual Pi-Mame install
That makes it difficult. You could try and use the installer on a fresh rasbian install. You would then have to recompile the kernel for Xin-Mo, or (maybe) copy the kernel from pimame. Recompiling isn't too hard, I have had to do it twice. It o…

Most should work. Some might need a driver though. I haven't used any USB controllers with mine though except for an old Xbox one. Not sure, good luck
