everything's already inplace, just replace the file. There shouldn't be a max size or time. It will play until it finishes. As long as omxplayer can play it, it will work.

PiMAME 0.7.10 was released a while ago that included the bootslpash video. Theres a movie file in the main directory that you can replace with anything you want (as long as it has the same name)

it may be because PiMAME is running the older Raspbian release. If you download the latest Raspbian and run the PiMAME installer, it should work.

Good catch! I'm editing that now. You should only have todo ./update.sh. The only time you use sudo is when you are uninstall PiMAME

There is a way to change your bash preferences to have console text appear black, but then you woudn't see text you type. The reason thsoe two messages appear is because they are occuring after the automatic login.

when you run the install script, are you doing sudo ./install.sh, or just ./install.sh? You should only have to do ./install.sh for it to work.

that usually happens when there aren't any roms in the roms folder, or something else is wrong. if you e x i t out of the menu and on the console, type advmame gridlee does it work?

ugh, that stinks. I'm glad you figured it out. I did that once when I was building a PC. couldn't figure out why it would turn on for 5 seconds that shut off. Good luck on the rest of the build!
