Which MAME emulator is best? And how do I start directly to one of them?
It will automatically open the AdvMenu and choose and launch the M4A rom. I like this way becasue I can see the screenshot of the game I am playing.

Good thing I kept the original upgraded card! The upgrade fixed Genesis, however the NES is still the same error. The new image i created from 7.9 works perfectly!

Does the update always write over the cfg files? I had customized the snes9x.cfg - mapping to my TankStick. When I updated to 7.8 - it overwrote my changes.

I am not getting NES to work. When I select it from the menu, the screen flashes and returns to the menu. Selecting it enough times, I am able to make out the error "emulater advmess not found, ignoring it."

HOW TO Guide and help to finish my project
I hooked it all up in my cabinet yesterday and used the Mame Menu (tab key to open during a game) to configure mame to use the inputs from the tank-stick. I only had to change for player 1.

I was trying to avoid that. When the system is powered off, you have to hit the buttons on the back of the tank stick to "enable" the settings. You didn't have to do that with the original X-Arcade Stick.

I identified the error. There is a typo in the first line "emulator "mame4all' generic ..." the single quote after mame4all should be a double quote. Also, I used the path "/home/pi/emulators/mame4all-pi/" for the path…
