Some general questions regarding 2 joysticks
yes, you can plug in 2 joysticks and play 2 player games. Right now, you will have to manually configure each of the config files. In the next update, we should have the controller config program running with 2 player setup.

Joystick Problems, please help
The problem with ignoring previously used buttons is that some people map a single button to several actions (I have x,y, & z all mapped to 1 button on genesis). I might be able to add a spam catcher though. I think that there is a way to just a…

That error in the scraper means that you have a game title with a non-ascii letter. Right now, to set up two players, you can manually set the config files (like in the dark ages). Otherwise, I have already created the script to configure 2 control…

Noob Guide for building a cabinet (Help)

Noob Guide for building a cabinet (Help)
@Pongo - I have my system overclocked to 'Turbo' (use the raspi-config overclock settings to keep your warranty intact). I don't use heatsinks, they are rather unnecessary in my opinion. I used them for a while when I ran a content he…

Feature Requests: What do you want to see in PiPlay?
@Pongo - I have already added 2nd player support to the controller config. It's just awaiting approval from Shea and should be available in the next update.

Hiss on audio, but only when nothing is playing and the sound is active
have you tried updating your alsa drivers? Also, try turning down the raspberry pi volume, and turning the speakers up. are you running through 3.5mm or hdmi?

0.8b5 NES emulation don't work properly
I'm guessing that something is not getting initialized properly for some reason. After running X, something is becoming available that is needed to run fceux. my question is why is it just for some people and not everyone?

Feature Requests: What do you want to see in PiPlay?
@djgalmarini - N64 [probably] won't ever be able to run on the standard raspberry pi flavors. It's just too much for it. The reason that ps1 is able to get away with it, is that the architecture is much more similar. as for the custom spl…

@tearexairz - hmm... according to documentation, that should be equivalent to 'auto'. have you tried setting them to your actual resolution settings?

Remove emulators and roms
easiest way to remove roms is via FTP program (I recommend FileZilla). To keep the emulators from showing up in piplay, just edit /home/pi/pimame/pimame-menu/config.yaml Under each emulator that you want hidden, set Visible: No

@redwing1978 - That's what I am running right now is the official release. try editing /home/pi/.fceux/fceux.cfg. Find the area that reads: SDL.YResolution - and - SDL.XResolution and set them both to 0

Problem updating from Piplay Beta 4 to Beta 5
you have a problem with your config file. it seems like you are missing a ':' Line 10 in config.yaml is for displaying or hiding the mouse cursor, which you had asked about previously, so I'm guessing that is where the problem is.

[Atari 2600 VCS] Rom Scraper?
hey @redwing1978, I built the romscraper. right now it is just set up so that if it sees a path for roms, then it will download images, regardless if piplay is used as the frontend or not. I haven't run the 2600 emulator, so I'm not sure i…

The rom scraper only checks the name, it doesn't check the CRC value of the game. I would recommend getting a different copy of the game. NES is my favorite and I have been able to run just about everything that I have thrown at it.

use sudo raspi-config I believe that it is under 'advanced options' then 'audio', you can set it to 'force audio through 3.5mm'

I believe that 8.7 is actually 8 beta 5, I think that there were a few small changes that were added that didn't really warrant a new official number. I could be wrong though. Shea takes care of all of the versioning

in the main menu, bring up the popup menu (tab/joystick button3). down near the bottom there should be an option to show clones. It is disabled by default. That should get it showing up for you.
