If you are on the latest version (.8b9), then first you can go into your romlist and press 'tab' in order to open the popup, then select 'show clones' and set it to False (this feature has been present for a while, but didn'…

@krayzielilsmoki - There were changes in the control scheme but for that file, user changes override them. You just need to re-download that file, like this: wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ssilverm/pimame-menu/master/pmmenu/pmcontrols.py -O …

@rolandblais - just open the popup menu, and adjust the volume, then exit the menu. that will create the file for you.

New update IS HERE! .8BETA9!
I think that the plan is to keep it for now because a lot of people use their piplay systems for other stuff too. We may go through and write up a clean-up script for people that don't care about the extras. Shea has also re-written the instal…

MAME Roms wont start
@englischdude - I know we've been saying it for like a week now, but beta9 should be out any time now. There are just a couple last tweaks to make and bugs to track down.

PiPlay Mame - 16 bit game peformance on Raspberry 2
[UPDATE] @dman777 - I grabbed a better copy of the neogeo.zip (bios file), apparently mine was missing a few files. I copied it over to my pifba roms folder and now all of the samurai showdowns work flawlessly on FBA.

Windows Mame versus PiPlay- What is the difference for the power demand?
I have been quite happy with the number of roms that I am able to run just using the pi.

yeah, I don't know why they would suggest an I5, I can't imagine anything that they throw at it needing that much power.

Trouble connecting to PiPlay website. Anyone else?
it's the server. A lot of people from all over the world, including me, have had problems connecting to it. We have also seen a considerable uptick in volume since the pi2 released.

PiPlay Mame - 16 bit game peformance on Raspberry 2
Hey @dman777 - I just tested SamuraiShowdown 2. Here's what I found, FBA played the game, but instead of graphics, everything was a grouping of lines (This happened for every snk game that I tried, so I may be missing a parent file). I then tri…

Windows Mame versus PiPlay- What is the difference for the power demand?
Yeah, I'm probably not the guy to ask, since I don't play much on the MAME emulators (mostly snes and genesis for me). But I imagine that it is probably scaling, and I know that sometimes there are some sound issues. but most things seem t…

piplay is just the frontend. we use the mame4all-pi source code. it's based on a much older version of mame and customized to run on the ARM processor that the raspberry pi uses.

Help with playing MAME Arcade ROMS ON PiPlay
@alintamer - ok, so here's how it works. There are different versions of every game out there (bug fixes, updates, region changes, etc). Mame4all runs the very specific .37b5 version, whereas AdvMame runs the more broad .106 version. The next…

they should run great. While I haven't tested those ones specifically, I know that a lot of the 16 bit systems run great. Super Ninendo and Genesis. I believe that the samurai showdown and gigawing are both handled by pi-FBA, which (although li…

In-Mame system volume adjustment
you could add some buttons to your gpio and modify the adafruit retrogame code to send volume signals instead of keystrokes.

if you run the controller config, advmame should automatically get pointed in the right direction. The file is located at /home/pi/pimame/.advance/advancemame.rc and the line should look like this: dir_rom /home/pi/.advance/rom:/home/pi/pimame/roms/…

What am I doing wrong here?
did you use sudo raspi-config to expand the memory? On version .8 beta 5, the scraper is heavily dependent on your wifi connection (it pulls all the info from thegamesdb.com) If you used version .8 beta 8, it is all locally stored on your pi. I'…

@alintamer - you need to edit the config files and make sure that they are pointing to the right folder for your roms. Normally the installer would do this for you.

are you making the changes, and then running the controller config? because that would overwrite your settings. otherwise, I don't see any problem with your options
