Is it possible to emulate PiMAME in Virtual Box or Qemu?

Hi guys, I'm a Brazilian guy trying to build my own retro arcade. But I don't have a raspberry pi yet, so I wondering if I can emulate PiMame just for testing. Anyone knows if it is possible?

Theoretically, yes.
There are many guides to setting up QEMU with Raspbian. Simply subsitute Rasbian for the PiMAME image. -
