Thanks Shea for putting a lot of hard work into putting PiMAME together to make things easier for everyone else.
I put a lot of coins into arcade machines as a kid (all I had I think) and being able to build a MAME machine to play a load of old favourites for less than the cost of an Xbox One is a very satisfying project. I'm enjoying learning more about Linux too, I was more familiar with older macs but the only Linux machines I've used were print servers and I didn't do much more than boot them up.
My build is a PiMAME coffee table with arcade controls and a hide-away drawer, a tilt top for when your neck hurts. I'm trying to get it all working the way I want it too, piece by piece, the latest challenge is to get two Speedlink gamepads, the arcade controls (ipac2) and a mini wireless keyboard to all 'play nice' together on the same machine!
tidied up the interior so curious hands (5yr old nephew) can't find 240v mains connections or hot amplifier heatsinks when unattended and the monitor is raised. All the amp and sound stuff is in the box on the left that the usb hub is attached to, the mains voltage connections for the 4 gang to the power socket on the base are hidden in the floor of the table.
The background is a promo image for Tron legacy just googled the movie title. It's been messed about, bits removed and the proportion changed in Photoshop and graphics and text added.
Thanks for the positive comments guys it's much appreciated
