Remove the need for a keyboard when using gamepad

Hi I have two gamepads plugged into my PiMAME but to navigate the menus before launching the games I need to have a keyboard too. Is there any way to control the menus (pimame and then advancemenu) with gamepads ?

There is currently a contributor adding joystick support to the menu system. There is no eta for it but it is being worked on.
