The arcade box I'm building has a button layout of two rows of four buttons each. I intend to play a lot of both Street Fighter and NeoGeo games. For playing SF games I assume I'd want to use the leftmost six buttons laid out as 123 on top and 456 on bottom with 7 and 8 on the right hand side, but for NeoGeo my preference would be for the top row of buttons to be 1234. Would it be easier to wire the system up for Street Fighter then reconfigure the NeoGeo controls or should I wire it up with 1234 on top and 5678 on bottom?
I just assumed that the NeoGeo emulator let you remap its keys once to be good for every game played. I have not had that experience as the norm when using MAME though.
