No internet connection to install Mame

    Hi,
    I installed 0.8 Beta 9 but when I click "install mame" from the menu, I get an error "no internet connection available".
    Piplay shows it has an IP address (top right of screen) and from the command line I can also ping the internet OK (piplay.org gives 76.72.174.30). I modified the python script mame_install.py to output more detail about the ConnectionError being thrown and it displays "Max retries exceeded with url: /".

    Could anyone advise and help me get mame installed?

    It's been a while since I ran into this, but I think that it's an old problem where the original repo was stored with code.google.com (which has since closed). Try replacing the mame_install.py file with this one:
    https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ssilverm/pimame-8/master/mame_install.py
