Cant run any rom...!? help pls
  • hey guys.
Im totally new in this stuff. and im doing good so far.
    but still have some problems.

    what i did:
I downloaded some roms (.zip files)
I uploaded these on my raspberry pi with my notebook. No
I uploaded them on mame4all and advmame for example.
Find these games in mame4all but cant find ANY rom in advmame.
And now the worst thing: Nothing is working!!!

I dont know what i did wrong.
    pls help me
  • @Madcaddie - if files aren't showing up in advmame, try running the rom scraper manually from the main menu.

Advmame and mame4all both require specific romsets to run correctly, check out this thread http://piplay.org/forum/discussion/comment/6621#Comment_6621
  • i read this allready but i dont get it...
i finally got my snes roms working.
but the mame thing wont work.
i also dont check this clrmamepro.
what i do with it!? it is necessary to get the roms working?

  • ok, so different versions of mame run different romsets (different versions of the roms).
-You can find the correct romset (hard to do, as these are based on much older/more stable versions of mame)
    or
-you can use clrmamepro to convert your current romset version to the correct version
  • ok i finally found a rompack witch shout work with mame4all...

but again i got an message like: .....not found

so i use the rom uploader.... but they are in a diffrent folder. and the folder witch is not found i cant find myself. so maybe the roms are in the diffrent folder and i have to do one folder so the pimame can find them?

man im such a noob....sorry for that
  • ok some new informations.
when I use startx and start mame manualy everythhing works fine.
But i cant start mame4all in the pimame menu.

so everything i did before was right. i got the right roms and everything.
it just dont work with the pimame menu.

    any ideas?
  • What happens when you try to launch mame4all from the pimame menu?
