AdvMAME sound issue

    Hi all,

    I recently put PiMAME onto a SD card and fired it up on my Pi, but there's a problem with sound on Advance MAME - when I try and play anything the sound keeps wobbling up and down in pitch, and the games run generally unevenly. Is anyone else having this issue? It doesn't happen on the SNES emulator.

    Yes. It's a known issue. Using HDMI seems to help a bit. I would suggest using MAME4All which is included in the latest version of PiMAME.

    I have also found that using a USB sound card helps. I'm using a Creative Sound Blaster Play in my cabinet.

    Sorry I meant to say I was playing over HDMI. I will give mame4all a go.

    Mame4All works WAY better when it comes to audio and game play. Advmenu just has a lot more overhead which I believe is the reason for the "warbly" audio.
