edit your .profile file by typing nano ~/.profile At the bottom of the file, change the line that has python launchmenu.py to be just x64 Press ctrl-x then y then reboot :)

Yeah, that will happen even if you update from beta 5. Beta 6 uses a newer version of Raspbian so I took the opportunity to change the .profile file. I will have to write a script to run with the updater to change the .profile file to match.

the latest image file does fix that. It's a pain in the butt to update .profile file with a script, but I'll look into it. If you get the beta 6 image or beta 7 image, sshing or going into X windows will not try to relaunch the Menu

honestly, it's still included because it is the first emulator I compiled for the Pi, and is the reason PiPlay exists. AdvMAME was moved to github, and it looks like the author might be working on it again. I'm hoping it gets better soon.

Beta 5 Issues
The versioning is just my own internal coding scheme. I should have started at 1, but i decided to start at 8.1. Everytime I do an update I up the version number. Sometimes I push an update and find a bug but haven't released the new sd card…

0.8b5 boot to desktop issue
if you exit out of the piplay menu (press esc or use escape) you should be at the X desktop. If you attach a network cable, you can ssh in and run raspi-config from the ssh terminal. Are you not getting a desktop when you exit out?

Problem with Legal Notice
Ok. I had the same issue with Galaga. You just have to press left and right again at the black screen and it will work. To get rid of the copyright and info message, add misc_quiet yes to your ~/.advance/advmame.rc file.

PS3 controller
press tab or button 3 on the controller in the menu, it will activate the popup menu. Select controller setup and then select which emulator to setup
